International Support and Solidarity

For the past 7 years people from 5 cities in W. Germany have been building a support for Mumia. They have been holding events, showing the video "On Death Row" and raising funds for Mumia's defense. The Mumia campaign in Germany has intensified and grown significantly over the years. In February '95, international activists initiated a campaign calling for political asylum in Germany for Mumia. By June 1995 there were 30 Mumia support committees and militant demonstrations all over Germany. In July 4000 people demonstrated in Berlin.

A few of these same German activists, have also been working to concretely support OOC. This group, USA-AG, supports the movement for political prisoners in the USA and makes our work more public in Germany. USA-AG distributes our newsletter to German political prisoners. In 2 years our German sisters raised $560.00 to help publish Out of Time. Our heartfelt thanks to USA-AG. As they wrote recently "...fighting for Mumia's life is fighting for the lives of all political prisoners. We see our support as an act of international antiracist solidarity. International solidarity is the tenderness of all peoples!"
