For the last sixteen years, PARC has corresponded with and mailed a directory of resources to prisoners, their friends, and family members. We are often the first point of contact for people to connect with prisoners' rights organizations, community organizations, prison literature and arts projects, family and visiting resources, health care and legal resources, parole and pre-release resources, and the prison abolition movement.
We Need Your Support
Each directory that PARC sends individually costs $1.50 ($0.75 in printing, $0.70 in stamps, and $0.05 in envelopes) which annually costs $7,500 to print and mail the 5,000 requested directories.
PARC currently receives $2,500 in grants annually from such wonderful organizations as the RESIST Foundation, The People's Life Fund, van Löben Sels/RembeRock, and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and $1,500 in individual member donations annually to help fund our resource directory. For 2016, we are seeking $3,500 in community funding as part of this campaign to print and mail our 2016 directory.
Ever since the ACLU stopped sending their Prisoners's Assistance Directory directly to prisoners, PARC is the only organization to freely provide information to tens of thousands of prisoners incarcerated across the nation.
