California moved a step closer to resuming executions Thursday when corrections officials announced new lethal injection procedures, beating a May 1 deadline by one day.

A spirited demonstration Monday
morning included many members of the community, five of the San
Francisco 8, leading members of the Black clergy, SF supervisors Eric
Mar and John Avalos, and the rhythms of the Brass Liberation Orchestra.

injured when protesters clashed with police in downtown Portland in a
rally against two recent officer-involved shootings Monday night .

Lockdown at Santa Rita JailDUBLIN,
Calif. -- Violence erupted at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin
Monday, and authorities to confine thousands of inmates to their cells.

 A young woman named Holly is being
prosecuted in Alameda County for an arrest that took place during the
January 14, 2009 Oscar Grant protests. She is asking anybody who
attended those protests to review their video or photos to see if they
have photos of the scene. She is also asking if anyone, who took
video/photos of both the January 7th and January 14th protests, would be
willing to share their footage, and possibly testify at trial about the
general atmosphere of the Oscar Grant protests.
